97 Days to Purdue Football: Michael Rouse III

Stay connected for news and updates

Purdue enters this season with depth at the defensive line, and we are known for cranking out quality defensive linemen. The future is nothing but bright for DT Michael Rouse III. Rouse is a big ol' boy who was extremely successful in high school, helping his team turn from a 1-8 record to 10-3 and had 51 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 6.0 sacks and seven forced fumbles his senior year.

Michael Rouse III - Fr (RS)

Hometown: Flossmoor, IL (Homewood Flossmoor)

Defensive Tackle

6'4", 305 pounds

2012 Projection: Reserve at defensive tackle.

Rouse has a lot of promise. He was one of the best DTs in Illinois and has a body that is ready for a college starter. However, he has two seniors and three juniors playing ahead of him. Rouse will get some playing time at the beginning of the season during the "gimme" games, but expect him to get little playing time once Big Ten season comes around, unless he is blowing through opposing teams' lines.
