Purdue won the 2012 Big Ten Baseball Tournament, but the late fight tonight could be costly. The video shows that All-Big Ten second baseman Eric Charles possibly threw a punch. In fact, he most definitely threw a punch. He was rightfully ejected, and that means he could be suspended for part of the NCAA Tournament.
See for yourself (thanks to Riley for getting the video already):
If Charles has to sit, hopefully it is for a game. It is almost certain that Purdue will host an NCAA regional and be a No. 1 seed, meaning we should have as easy of a game as possible against a No. 4 seed in the first round. We'll possibly play the Valparaiso- Illinois Chicago winner int he Horizon League Tourney tomorrow, and we've already pounded Illinois-Chicago twice. That's the type of opponent we want if Charles misses a game.
That's all forthcoming, however. in the meantime, we're Big Ten champs, Big Ten Tourney champs, and we're officially in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 25 years.
