Good news everyone, this morning on the Purdue Sports website they athletic department announced that they were making slight changes to the seating bowl in Mackey. The first(and IMO the most important one) is that they decided not to cut a second tunnel on the floor. I haven't met a single Purdue fan that thought this was a great idea in he first place but this a victory for the history of the arena itself and the fans. Plus not building the second tunnel will add about $60,000 worth of seat inventory to sell a year.

Second they announced that they were adding 3 extra inches of leg room to the premium seating area. It's going to result in taking out about 54 seats but it turns out 78 of said seats weren't sold last year in the first place, shocking I know. Now if you will permit me to rant a little (Entering Rant) To those of you who paid for the Mackey project and are now sitting in premium seats, thank you but suck it up. Everyone else in the building spends their money on tickets and they get hard metal bleacher and even less leg room. You are going to a basketball game not on a cruise, I really don't care how comfortable you are, hell I want you to be uncomfortable so you stand and do things like cheer. I know it's a shocking new concept but you should try it sometime it's great, and believe it or not it's the reason you should be there in the first place(End Rant).

The other little thing they announced that with the money saved the are going to remodel the visitors locker rooms. I can only assume that means lower the ceiling to 5', cutting the hot water service to the room, along with other great amenities like that.
