A lot of the talking heads in sports have never had much love for Purdue, and that is what it is. I'm not sure that Purdue will ever be a media darling, nor am I sure that I would ever want them to be. Consequently, Purdue gets discounted, underestimated, and downright cut down at times by the media elite. I suppose we should just be grateful that they even remember our players' names after they're done with the requisite circle jerk they perform on Duke, Kentucky, UConn, and OSU.
So all that said - anyone want to take a stab at who's responsible for this quote?
"Hummel got a standing ovation at Mackey Arena. He should get an applause wherever his career ends in the NCAAs. He's been as good for the game as any player in the country the past five years."
Perhaps you've ready this article already, but I found it quite surprising.
