Mike Carmin awarded the 2012 Mel Greenberg Media Award

5

Mike Carmin of the Lafyette Journal & Courier was awarded the 2012 Mel Greenberg Media Award by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association on Monday. The annual award is given to a member of the media who "has best displayed a commitment to women's basketball and to advancing the role of the media in the women's game." Anybody who follows Purdue Athletics, especially Women's Basketball, is familiar with Mike's coverage and his Twitter updates. Since many Women's games aren't available nationwide as often as the men's games, he constantly tweets updates from the game, and they are outstanding! I was glued to his twitter when Rayburn went banana's against Minnesota in Minneapolis and made 12 3-pointers. His coverage of Versp's team is excellent and I encourage all of you to follow his work. Congrats, Mike! You certainly deserve it!
