Hope's Dream still alive!!!!
'By the time the fall comes, Purdue could have as many as 10 quarterbacks on its roster with the incoming recruits. Hope smiled and said, "That's OK." But it's likely he'll figure out a rotation with Marve, TerBush and Henry to start 2012.' - goldandblack.com
Hope is 1 QB shy of that elusive 11 QB lateral play!
Can't wait to see that one. Boiler Up, Hammer Down! Spring ball right around the corner.

Hope needs to listen to Gisele Bundchen
“My husband cannot fucking throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time.” This isn’t 3rd grade when we were in our back yard playing “one on one” football with our neighbor where we would call hike, throw the ball in the air and then go running after it trying to catch it. We need other position players.
Buckeye by birth, but BOILERMAKER by the grace of God!
Are you crazy?!?
Why would you need recievers, cornerbacks, runningbacks, and tight ends when you could have quarterbacks!?!
In Hope's genius scheme
QBs will be catching football, blocking, rushing, and of course, throwing – all at the same time.
Big Year Next Year
I think we’re going to be much improved on D, just reading the bio of the coaches on D makes me feel better. I’m hoping that Nord does a better job. I’m thinking 7-8 wins next year.
I know this post is supposed to be a bit funnh
But Hope was pretty clear I his last Gold and Black Live show that he wants to name a starter and then have athletes who play around him and can also play quarterback.
It doesn’t take much to tell that in the future he wants Appleby to be the starter and one of the dual threat quarterbacks to play WR/RB and surprise or gimmick QB snaps.
It’s not a bad idea really.

Wow that post was a mess. I hope my point was clear enough.

So what happened to the other 3?
I have no problem w/Appleby the starter and one dual-threat be the next Siller. But we have 5 new QBs in this class, so what the other 3 gonna do?
Agree, but some adjustment.
I do think he will use the standard 5 offensive linemen. The other 6 spots on the field? All QBs.
Defense? QBs at both CB spots and safeties, assuming a 4-3 set. That way, in the event of interception, they can make accurate across the field laterals on the return.
Special teams? QBs in place of all kickers, and the holder on the FG set. That way we can run super awesome mulit-fakes. (Just kidding, it’ll be a draw play for a 4 yard loss)
Of course I’m kidding, I hate to admit it, but I’m actually a bit excited about Purdue football. I usually refrain from any excitement or expectation. When you go in expecting 0-12, 6-6 feels like a huge accomplishment.
