Latest Bracketology
So in the two bracketology reports that I have read today (SBnation and ESPN). Purdue is firmly in at the moment. SBnation has us as an 11 seed playing the traitor and Notre Dame in Albuquerque. ESPN has us in as a 10 seed playing Gonzaga in Omaha. Personally I would rather play Notre Dame because I feel we matchup better with them and plus I want to see Rob shut the traitor down and drop a nice double double on him. What do you guys think?

That sounds right.
We’re in as of right now, but there’s work to be done to stay at .500.

I would rather
have an 11 seed to be honest. But this Bracketology isn’t for real so…I guess it doesn’t matter
I always take Lunardi's brackets almost as 100% truth.
Unlike a lot of analysts, he is damn good at his job. He rarely gets anything wrong regarding his predictions. If he says we are in, we are probably in. We definitely still have work to do though.
I think his accuracy is something like 93%
it is scary how good he is. He also is with TMill in the opinion that a sub .500 conference record shouldn’t get in. So he is wrong on some things. :-)

11 seed probably beats a 9-10 seed.
If we win the first game I rather draw a #3 seed instead of a #1-2 seed which go be anyone from Duke to North Carolina, Kansas, etc.

Would LOVE to play ND
This should’ve been the matchup at Conseco in December instead of butler just for the Hummel vs. Martin angle. It would make my CBB year to end his college career with a loss to us.

But definitely would be absolutely perfect!

Doesn't he get a 6th?
1 redshirt year due to transfer, 1 year due to medical.
Love to beat him in the NCAAs though. This year or next. Just want a win, actually.

He has to apply for it, which I believe he has.
The rules are that you get 5 years to play 4, but they occasionally grant a 6th year to play 4 if it is needed. It’s a case by case basis.
He quite honestly hasn't been very productive at Notre Dame.
I don’t know if you want to chalk that up to difference in coaching or what, but the difference between Hummel’s productivity and Martin’s is ridiculous.
Yea I don't know what it is.
They were virtually the same player coming out of h.s. I think they were ranked right next to each other on rivals, same height, 5 lb weight difference, same position. Hummel has been more productive from the day they set foot on campus at Purdue. I believe it was the other way at Valpo. Not sure what happened.
ND has been hotter than a $3 Bloomington Hooker lately
not sure I want to tie into them. I do love that they have us playing in that shithole known as The PIT. There is an unwritten NCAA selection committee bylaw that says Purdue plays in the PIT whenever possible.
I hate The PIT.
>Hoosier by birth, Boilermaker by the grace of God
>Don't cry, MSU - It's just a game...
The traitor?
Scott Martin didn’t want to go to Purdue anymore so he waited until the end of his first year then transferred. He isn’t a traitor he just didnt want to go here. its his education get over it and move on

I agree
People need to realize that a lot of these players make their decisions off of the coach, facilities, current players, etc. Not every recruit has grown up with a loyalty to Purdue or any other school they go to. You’re not going to have a very good team if you only want players that have a Purdue loyalty instilled in them from birth. Even after a year, I wouldn’t necessarily expect someone to have a deep loyalty if there was none before he committed. People change their minds all the time. Just because he left our school to go to a rival doesn’t mean we need to call him names and wish him hard times. I’m sure he’s grateful to Painter and Purdue for giving him his start. We should appreciate the solid year he gave us and wish him well wherever he goes.
ok
And life is all flowers and butterflies. Matt wanted him play the 4 and he wanted stay outside and shoot 3s. Really just think couldnt stand being in robs shadow when he was higher rated recruit

And that's what you think. That's fine.
But it doesn’t make it fact. I know the roles kind of reversed for those two when they got in college, but not once has either one of them said that Martin was unhappy about that. Even if that’s the case, why knock him for his decision? It just makes us sound bitter. I’m sure none of us would have had a problem with his motives if it was reversed and he decided to transfer to Purdue instead of away.
but he was rated one lower than Rob out of high school?
so he wasn’t the higher rated recruit.
