Tonight in the season opener for the Magic, Smooge had 13 points on 6-10 shooting, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, but most importantly logged 25 minutes in a win against the overhyped Denver Nuggets. I'm not sure how much we can draw from this single game but I think this is a great sign him as the backup point guard/ combo guard for Orlando. Not too bad for a outcast from Boston and a salary dump for Houston. I feel smooge will be a valuable asset for the Magic as they reinvent themselves post Dwight Howard

Also tonight JaJuan was selected with the first overall overall pick in the D league draft. It's been a strange ride for JJ in NBA but he's back in Indiana as he'll be suiting up for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. I see this as a blessing in disguise for JJ. Instead of playing extremely limited minutes for the Celtics or Rockets, he'll once again be the best post player on the team. I know we've heard since the draft how much he's like garnett and how it was great for him to be behind him in the line up. This limited JJ to being KG 2.0 and he isn't, hence being in the D league to DEVELOP his skills, something he should have been doing since day 1 with the celtics. The mad ant's don't have much size so JJ will be forced to once again go up against the opponents low post players. He proved he could do it in the big ten, and I foresee him doing it in the Fort as well. Hopefully the Mad ant's affiliates, the Pacers, pistons, bucks, and bobcats get a good look at his skill as a big man in an nba style game setting and offer him a contract
