Downtown Indy for the game Saturday night!
Downtown for the game Saturday night!
A few friends and myself will be downtown Saturday night for the superbowl festivities. I know it is going to be absolutely crazy. Anyone else going? Any suggestions on where to watch the game? I'm sure it will be packed everywhere we go. I don't even really know if we will be able to get in anywhere downtown without paying huge $$$ to get in. I can't miss this game! Although, wherever it may be, I'm sure there will be 3 times as many IU fans.

I'll be there
I’ll most likely be downtown Saturday night, not 100% sure yet but if you guys meet somewhere let me know and I’ll help balance the Purdue/IU ration out haha
Not sure where to go.
Everyone is saying it will be near impossible to get in anywhere.

Broadripple?
Yea, thats true, maybe Broadripple? There is a B-dubs and a Chumleys there among other places to watch the game.
Maybe
But, I don’t know if I’ll be able to drag my group away from downtown. I will freak out if I can’t watch the game. Hell, I’ll stand outside and watch it if I can.

I've heard there are going to be massive cover charges everywhere
I heard $100 to get in the door at Slippery Noodle. Not sure if that was just a rumor, but it wouldn’t surprise me. Some restaurants are charging $200-300 minimum per person this weekend.
this
the cover charges for places are going to be astronomical. For the Peter King tweetup at Scotty’s last night, there was a line out the door by 545 because the building and tent were at capacity. Most of the people weren’t even there to hear PK speak.

Surely some place will have it on where you can see it somewhere?
Any suggestions?

No idea
this is uncharted territory for downtown Indy. All I know is that it’s tough to find a spot during a regular Colts game.
You might have luck somewhere a bit further north from Georgia St. Maybe somwehere up near the Elbow room?
Your best bet may be waching the game somewhere else and then meeting up with your friends afterward. I think you may be very frustrated downtown. You’re going to have 100-150k people in a confined area….and 95% of them aren’t going to give a shit about the IU/Purdue game.
this
it’s going to be incredibly frustrating. I know I can’t stand to be in a room where everyone isn’t focused on the game. Hence, I watch most sporting events by myself to protect my sanity.

I would suggest something outside of downtown
no one near the superbowl is going to care. I’d try something on Broad Ripple or at least away from the Super Bowl village. Don’t have any specific recommendations though. I’m going with my basement and a Digiorno

I am going to predict
if you go do downtown you won’t be seeing the game unless you have a very, very large bankroll.
Sorry, I'll be in West Lafayette
Screaming about how woefully inadequate IU is.

broad ripple
It won’t be that bad. Try one of the less popular bars like 1001. And there’s no use trying to find a bar where you aren’t outnumbered at least 2 to 1 by IU fans. Doesn’t exist in indy. Or pretty much anywhere but w lafayette for that matter.
