Hammons to China Ray/Jay back to Indy
Oakhill coach Steve Smith Announced today that they will play nine games in March in China . These are hs kids and now they are going to play against the Chinese National team . Seems crazy to me Oakhill has 13 more games scheduled which will bring them to 45 games plus a season ending tourney then add 9 more. How does a hs team play in China who is paying for this trip. Jay gave me a heads up they are back in Indy this Saturday vs Detroit county day the game is at 11am at Scholastic Sports 7300 east 56th st. Indy .

Wow.
So how impressive would it be if these kids beat the Chinese National Team?
I see
what you did there.
And yes, playing high school students this many games is too much.

As a resident of China
I should note that the Georgetown fight occurred in a game against the Bayi Rockets, a professional team in the CBA. The team is based out of Ningbo, the city where I live.
By contrast, the Chinese national team tends to be more well-behaved (as far as I know). They got beaten in a pair of exhibition games against Duke last August, but no punches were thrown!

I lived in Shanghai for a couple months
I miss the xiao long bao. Can’t find any of that good stuff here in the states and especially not Indiana.

DC
next time you find yourself in the DC area check out A&J’s in Annandale, VA. that’s probably the best you’re going to do here in the states

will be in DC in April
but not sure if I’ll have the transportation capability to get out to VA. I will be sure to keep that in mind for the future though. I’ve had about a 6 month craving for good dumplings.

there’s also a place in chinatown right by the chinatown/verizon center metro stop that i think might get you what you want, but i haven’t eaten there in years and i forget the name. you might have to do some looking around. if you don’t feel like Chinese, stay near chinatown but go to jaleo (spanish tapas) then finish your right off at RFD’s World of Beer…man i miss that place some times.

May get Hammons in better shape..
that’s a positive. But I still think its too many for some hs kids. Then add school on top of that.
you don't want to go to the LaLu game this weekend
it’s the IU Recruit Classic. Every single team involved in the tournament has an IU recruit on it. Me thinks you’d all go insane as packed as that building will be with Hoosiers fanatics.

Maybe they're just going to play until they lose?
Seriously though, this is insane. Way, way, way too many games. I know kids play rough schedules with AAU ball, but this is getting nuts. Coach Smith will be getting some furious phone calls from college coaches if any of their recruits get injured due to their bodies not being able to hold up under this stress. If Hammons gets hurt, half of the Purdue fanbase or more will be on his ass.
Injury is part of the game though
Lawson got injured last year, and none of us were upset at his coach.
