Anybody Thinking "How Many Days to Kickoff"
Interesting how things can chage so quickly...I find myself looking ahead to football season. I forsee a good run in the NIT for our hard playing injury-ridden basketball team....but anxious to see what Hope we have for football - I anticipate a really good year - something to look forward too! I would like to hear what other Boiler fans are thinking. It might be a long winter, so set our sights on the spring possibilities.

I haven't given up on our boys yet
Although I can see where you’re coming from. How do you not be excited for the inevitable Four QB System?
Reaction images? I got 'em

Nah we don't want to throw freshmen to the wolves
Not when we have four capable players with experience starting!

I'm certainly counting down
To the beginning of volleyball season! 210 more days!

Football
I’m not looking forward to football at all. Coaching is still a mess and we have no idea how it’s going to be in the future. The future is bright for basketball, and maybe the kids can get it together for the rest of the year.
I would take this basketball season
over any of the past 5 seasons of football
Even if they only make it to the NIT
it would more success than the football team has had in 4+ years
I agree but I would rather have a good football team
than a good basketball team. I tend to like college football more than college basketball. I love both, but it’s just the atmosphere at college football games and something about Saturdays in the fall that does it for me.
How is the NIT better than the Pizza Pizza bowl??
I’m with clark – maybe there should be a poll…
(Something like, would you rather be awesome in football and suck at basketball, i.e. PSU, suck in football and be awesome in basketball, i.e. Duke, or be good but never awesome in both, i.e. what Purdue has apparently been trying to achieve)
I have absolutely loved watching the basketball team the last few years, and am looking forward to many more great years, but I have to say I have a greater love for football…
Going to the Pizza Pizza bowl is like getting gold at the special olympics
happy to be there, but is it really worth bragging about?
The NIT champ is at least a legit tourney champ
Unlike Danny Hope, I really wouldn’t consider the WINNER of the Pizza Bowl a CHAMPION.
No.
Nobody cares about your fantasy baseball team

I'm not exactly a wellspring of optimism for the season
But I’ve always been more of a football fan, so I am looking forward to kick off. At least we should (in theory) be facing a bit of a weaker division, but who knows?
I just love Saturday afternoons/evenings in the fall watching football, which is why waking up to catch an 11am game appeals to me so much. Thanks MJB!
I'm hoping for a healthy team after camp.
That is literally ALL I care about. That every player is ready for that week of practice before our first game. Obviously some will have injuries or banged up. But I want 0, none, zilch, null Season-ending injuries. I want these kids to have fun and play some football.
I'm still savoring a bowl season
I’m worried things may implode quickly from the kickoff.
Even if we have Mostert returning it.

Honestly, what is anybody looking forward to?
Hope had his team finish at 7-6 in the the most mediocre way possible….do you really think they will move up?
Are you looking forward to…
a 8-5 record against no quality teams?
a 2-6 QB system?
a new def cord that was pulled away from the mighty CFL?
a (probably guranteed) loss to a non-BCS team?
I think it's a reflection of the general trajectories of the programs.
Basketball’s in a bit of a tailspin right now, while football ended looking up.
So even though basketball’s probably better off in absolute terms, people are feeling better about football.

pretty unlikely
sayin as 13 games would mean a bowl game which 5 wins would mean no bowl game. but i get your point. I imagine the same up and down level of play and probably a good upset win and upset loss.
