I want to get to the NU game, but I'd rather not pay the silly fees the NU ticket office slaps on you for reserving your tickets in advance. That, plus I'm grumpy that tickets cost $30 though they cost $5 when I lived a few blocks away from the stadium. I'm not that old--just, ticket prices outpaced inflation.
1) what are people's experiences with StubHub?
2) does it pay to wait til the last minute, or close to it, for a huge price drop--especially if the weather stinks? Do you find this can offset any shipping charges and so forth?
3) what other precautions do you have to take to make sure things go smoothly?
4) Is there a better ticket selling site out there, or a good alternative?
I've done some basic research on the site (e.g. there're obvious safety valves for a bad transaction) but am curious what everyone else things, or what their experience has been. While it's possible I can reserve a ticket by going to the NU athletic center or paying $10 in will call fees, I'd prefer not to. But I don't want to risk missing the game if it sells out. I mean, I probably can get a discount ticket outside Welsh-Ryan, but I'd rather not risk that either if I can help it.
I also think this might be helpful for people planning in the future--who knows.
