With a recent poll on here asking H&R readers to share their thoughts on ND, I was not surprised at what I saw. I voted -6 mostly because aO$U had taken the spot for my least favorite team in college sports thanks to a glorious trip to Columbus with the Paint Crew this past January. I have to admit, being from South Bend I use to be a Notre Dame fan (please forgive me), but I fully converted to Purdue-ism after we defeated Ohio State in 2009, as my Notre Dame-ism began waning after ND lost to Syracuse in 2008 and ultimately left me when they lost to USC (again) the same day Purdue beat OSU.
Being from South Bend, I have to put up with Notre Dame crap the whole time I am there, whether it is on the news, from my friends, and pretty much everyone around me (though I do see more IU logos than ND logos, but we all know they are interchangeable). It makes me mad that Notre Dame gets attention like it is God's gift to college football while Purdue is just it's baby cousin from the side of the family no one cares about and just gets laughed at during Christmas dinner, yet Notre Dame only has 3 more wins than Purdue since the 1997 season. I guess when you have multiple championships that can now qualify for social security, it just makes you that much more special.
So I just want to know why you hate the Irish. 100+ readers voted in the latest poll so I am curious to why. Also, Boiled Sports shared various ND Football mottoes in April that I am sure we will all enjoy sharing to our various ND friends that I will share below, and feel free to add your own:
Notre Dame Football: Celebrating 2 bowls wins since our freshmen were born.
Notre Dame Football: Too sexy for a conference.
Notre Dame Football: Reminiscing with IU basketball fans about the mid-to-late 80s for a quarter century.
Notre Dame Football: Remember when we mattered?
Notre Dame Football: At least it was a beautiful day.
From H&R t-shirt: Notre Dame Football: Let's try to beat Navy this year
