One of the players from the 2010 recruiting class I was most looking forward to seeing was E.J. Johnson. I saw his exploits with Florida power Cocoa and he reminded me a little od Stu Schweigert. He was a ball hawking safety in the middle of the field like Stu, and he saved his best for big games.
E.J. Johnson - Fr. (RS)
Hometown: Cocoa, FL (Cocoa HS)
Safety
6'1", 175 pounds
2011 Projection: Reserve at safety
Johnson was able to redshirt last season when it looked at times as if he would start. Unfortunately, he has already suffered a shoulder injury this season that will hold him out for awhile. With Albert Evans and Logan Link manning the middle as senior safeties I was looking forward to Johnson getting some quality time in as a reserve in preparation for next season.
E.J. Johnson is a winner. He was the starting safety for two seasons for Cocoa high school and the Tigers won consecutive state championships. He also was a starter on their state championship basketball team as a junior. He made waves in football his junior year with 8 interceptions, including three in the state championship game. We saw plenty of him last year after he committed thanks to weekly videos from Florida Today. Johnson played some offense in 2009 too and had six catches for 183 yards and three touchdowns.

Dog of fallen Navy SEAL to lead Iowa onto the field in opener? | CollegeFootballTalk
It's OMHR, but this is a very cool gesture by Iowa to have Navy SEAL Jon Tumilson's dog Hawkeye lead them on the field in their opener next week.
