Colin Coward
This loser has a job with ESPN for reason that I can't begin to understand. Concerning the news about Rob Henry, he was quoted on his radio show talking about how nobody cares about Purdue. I can also remember him on SportsNation when he said "Notre Dame looks in the mirror and sees Florida. Everyone else looks at them and sees Purdue". This disgusts me so much.
Does anyone care what this idiot thinks?

Reaction images? I got 'em
Cowherd is one of those people, like a good number of sports fan, who has an opinion on any given subject. Due to his job, a lot of the time this means he has to come up with his opinion on subjects he clearly doesn’t care about, so it’s usually made without much backing (or any backing). Then if you try to call him out on it or you disprove what he says, his ego gets to his head and he basically bickers forever about how he’s right, everyone else is wrong to the point where it’s not even worth it.
He’s also the dummy who made his NFL predictions which had more wins then losses, proving even more that everything he says or does is basically his opinion without fact and usually without much basis in reality. You could be on par with him when it comes to sports knowledge solely by watching Sportscenter and only watching ‘marquee’ games (MNF, Sunday Night Football, Championship Games, Playoffs and so on)

You realize the more wins than losses was on purpose?
It was a part of his “slightly optimistic predictions” where he have some teams a couple extra wins here or there. It’s part of the joke.

It all started...
in 2006. I remember listening to him on a.m. 1450 and one caller from Purdue irritated him and he’s never missed an opportunity to bash PU. It was the 2nd year we didn’t play Ohio St. and Michigan and we thought we had a chance at going undefeated. The topic on his show that day was about the BCS and someone from Purdue called in posing a hypothetical situation where two teams went undefeated in a conference. OSU and Michigan were top 5 that year and might have been undefeated going into the final week. The called started out saying “What if Purdue went undefeated, I know we didn’t, but..” and that’s about where Cowherd cut him off and went on a rant about Purdue being terrible and he hasn’t let up since. And really, we haven’t done much to be able to change his mind since. Fair or not, we’re his go to bad team.
I actually mostly enjoy his show because he loves college football. SportsNation on the four letter is pretty awful though. His response to criticism is usually “Thanks for listening.”
He’s just bitter because Dan Patrick has a superior product in his time slot. He’s the prototype ESPN blowhard and they can try to put SportsNation on for 5 hours a day – it still blows. He can tell me how my bleep tastes.

Earlier this summer
I heard him talking about dynasties in sports and how everyone hates them and said something like:
“Everyone hates good teams. Everyone hates the Yankees. Everyone hates Ohio State. Nobody hates Purdue…except me. They are more like Purdon’t and I don’t know why they exist.”
I was actually driving through campus when he said that and my jaw dropped. I couldn’t believe he would go that far out of his way to insult a university.
You can find him on SBNation blogs

He is paid to be "controversial"
e.g. not really controversial, but seeming that way to people too lazy to think about what he says and who just enjoy ranting.
Exceptionally controversial = yelling extra loud at phone-in callers that disagree with him. Reasoning skills fully optional, possibly counterproductive.
It’s tough to deal with these jerks—we all have to find our way. With him it’s not even about Purdue, really.
