It's official: Ohio State has not beaten Purdue in football since 2008!
Ohio State just vacated last season's wins, which means the 49-0 thumping that I was present for in Columbus last year doesn't count anymore!
Does this mean that we won 5 games last year now, or the game just doesn't even matter? Not that it matters anyway, given how the rest of the season went...

I don't know about this
Technically Jim Colletto had a winning season due to a forfeit, and anything that gave him a winning season was obviously shady.
A futile crusade to prevent mass ignorance

All I know is:
We didn’t lose to cheaters.
I come from a land down unda
Vacate the winnings, but ...
at least B1G still pocket the $ from OSU’s Sugar Bowl appearance.
Not only that, Tressel dodged losing $250k: “…the university also said Friday it is waiving a $250,000 fine imposed on Tressel and changing his resignation to retirement”
In the end, you can be found guilty but you can keep the $.
Over/Under
on how long it takes Tressel to show up on an NFL staff?
He violated NCAA regulations and lied to NCAA investigators, but I don’t remember hearing that he broke any local, state or federal laws…
My bet is that he will have landed, at the very least, a “consulting job” with a pro team within a year.
In our society, cheating is forgivable as long as you win (sports, politics, banks, big biz, yada…). I honestly don’t know how your supposed to teach children right from wrong these days.

within 2 years, watch for the Patriots to pick him up :P
or the Seahawks. Pete Carroll would love to have him at his poker table, I’ll bet.
that is, assuming football ever exists again

And our QB got hurt, which turned the season from very bad to terrible

How does this impact our official 2010 season record?
Do the NCAA books still list the contest as a “L”, change it to a “W” or does the game get deleted entirely?
Does OSU’s official 2010 record now become 0-1?

I've been wondering the same thing.
No clue what it does to the record books of everyone else they played.
In any event, the NCAA is still gonna come down hard on them. They’re not saving face at all.

yeah it doesn’t get counted as a win, it just gets stricken from the record. OFFICIALLY we finished the year 4-7 (2-5 in the B1G).
I agree with Paulie though. OSU didn’t voluntarily take away any schollies or ban themselves from the postseason, but it’s a safe bet to say that the NCAA will. I wonder what the process is for the BCS to reclaim the Sugar Bowl trophy…

they'll probably just give it to Boise State or Utah
or some other team that finished undefeated in the last 10 years but never received a national championship in a pathetic attempt to appease them
