Pryor Banned from OSU for 2011
I typically like to stay away from other school's issues knowing that I would never want to be caught foot in mouth if something came to light at Purdue, but this is just ridiculous. Not that Pryor is every going to amount to anything in the NFL, but O$U is now saying that Pryor wouldn't have been allowed to play this year even if he had stayed, thus opening up his eligibility for the supplemental draft. This just might be the most corrupt and disgusting thing to come out of this whole mess. Does that mean the other players implemented in selling stuff will be ineligible this year as well? Something to chew on. What a disgrace to the Big Ten...

They're trying to distance themselves as much as possible from these guys
But I don’t think the NCAA is going to be fooled. It will be interesting to see what sanctions are ultimately imposed. The initial hearing before the infractions committee is set for Aug 12.
Yeah its a win win for both.
O$U distances themselves but makes it a point to saying Pryor wouldn’t have been allowed to play this year even if he had stayed. Saying that doesn’t distance themselves any further than not saying it. The only reason they said it was because TP was not going to be allowed into the supplemental draft. Nonsense.

no they're not trying to 'distance themselves'
They’re trying to look out for their buddies.
They turned Tressel’s resignation into a retirement. And despite insistence from G. Gordon Gee that Tressel would in fact be paying that $250k fine they levied against him, they reversed that as well, AND came out owing Tres 50 some thousand dollars. On top of all of that, Ol’ JT can now collect his state pension.
Now, they secured Pryor’s spot in the Supplemental Draft.
They’re taking care of their own. Overtly none the less. Oh yeah, they’ve TOTALLY learned their lesson. That darn Jim Tressel! That scoundrel!

weak sauce
O$U isn’t hurting their case, but they are at the point where they can’t exactly do themselves any favors.
To your call once more we rally....
O$U still wants him to graduate
“Please note that this dissociation does NOT prohibit you from enrolling in classes at the university to complete your degree,” Smith wrote. “As you know, I would encourage you to complete your degree.”
too bad his major was “exploring” – Ohio State’s equivalent of Purdue’s undergraduate studies program (undecided)
To your call once more we rally....
Interestingly enough
his car fiasco never lead to any actual charges from the NCAA so he’s banned from campus for actions that four other players committed (that are still on the team). Ooopsyy
