Basketball - Another injury :-(
This time it is John Hart, out 12-16 wks (http://www.southbendtribune.com/sports/sbt-college-basketball-purdues-hart-has-surgery-20110723,0,5686267.story).
I know, I know, a lot of ppl say John is a wasted scholarship. However, I do believe in him and I sill remember the inspirational Illinois game. When given the opportunity, he can be a contributor. I guess on the bright side, we have the most depth in SG (at least the injury is not to our frontcourt, esp #4), and if Hart's injury means we fulfill the "injury quota" (if there is such a thing), then thanks John for taking the bullet for the rest of the team.
On an unrelated note, I am surprised they don't even show Purdue on Gary Harris' list (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/776727-a-closer-look-at-the-top-25-recruits-in-the-country#/articles/776727-a-closer-look-at-the-top-25-recruits-in-the-country/page/9). In any case, I don't really like bleacherreport in the first place, and frankly, I think it means absolutely nothing even if Purdue is on the list. I believe at this point no one has a clue where Harris will end up and everything is just rumor.
In any case, from everything I've read it sounds like he likes IU best (coach and players) while MSU is his best fit (they desperately need a wing), so I am not optimistic we will land him. (I am prone to be wrong though. Last year I thought Dawson likes us best (coach) and we are his best fit (we desperately need a forward who dominates on glass to complement our wings), and yet I was proven wrong, so let's hope I am wrong again)

If only he looked at all like the John Hart we saw before last season's injury
He was our third highest scorer before he went out.
I agree, though. That game against Illinois was magical.
Reaction images? I got 'em
I think he was destined for surgery with his foot problems last season...
….but he’ll be back by BigTen season, so it’s not that big of deal, is it?

This isn't exactly a new injury
It was a surgery to repair a lingering issue from last year’s stress fracture that he struggled to play through. If anything, this is good news. It means he’s going to be better equipped to come back 100% than he would have been without the surgery.
To your call once more we rally....
kinda surprised they waited until now
but I hope to see him back to full speed soon. I know he’s capable of more than we’ve been seeing.
