7/1/11 rivals150 2012 Update
Rivals released its updated rankings for the Class of 2012 and three Purdue commits remain in the top 150.
Ronnie Johnson is now the highest rated prospect coming in at #88. He's also increased from a 3 star recruit to a 4 star.
Jay Simpson comes in at #94 and remains a 4 star recruit.
Rapheal Davis is ranked #107 and falls from a 4 star to a 3 star. This is surprising to me, seeing as he had a strong performance recently at the Purdue camp.
Purdue target Mitch McGary remains at #5. Gary Harris is #28 and A.J. Hammons is #9
Hopefully Purdue can add one of the above players to the list.

Hammons
I was reading some messages on another board and an individual there seems pretty confident that Hammons will give his commitment to Purdue soon. He also thinks Harris to IU is a sure thing. Anyone else have thoughts or knowledge of this? I’d love to get Harris but Hammons would be a huge pickup as well (pun intended).

here's a friendly hint...
Believe nothing you ever read on any message board, ever. Ever.
No one knows shit about anything. And, if someone did happen to know something about both Hammons and Harris (let’s be nice and say that’s “unlikely”) do you think they’d reveal that information anonymously on a message board? If you’re into recruiting, take some time to discover the handful of reputable people who actually have good information and read their blog, follow them on Twitter, etc.. Message boards are for entertainment value only.
AJ over at The Crimson Quarry had a excellent post on this a little bit ago: http://www.crimsonquarry.com/2011/7/5/2259521/you-dont-have-sources

I can’t believe we still haven’t learned after the Painter saga. In this day and age, all those talks (on message boards, forums, twitter, facebook) are just rumors at best. People hear some speculation talks and say “Book it” and “Done deal” and makes it sound as if they have inside information. Even reputable newspapers can hire someone (cough, Bernie) and add “sources say” in their unreliable reporting that is eventually proven wrong. Looking back, none of our players know anything about Painter until Painter makes up his mind and calls them, so all those “book it” and “done deal” (even the source is from the players themselves) are meaningless.
