Ronnie's "Near Perfect" game
Here is a free article from gold/black.com about the 1st junior/senior exhibition game last night. Ronnie did real well, hopefully he continues to improve. These games do not have much defense and it is nice to see that Yogi did not play well at all (4points, 3 TO's). The second exhibition game is Wednesday and features Raphael Davis. Ronnie was also the only player to not have a TO in the game.

Gary Harris seemed to be impressed by RJ
That can’t hurt when it comes time for Gary to make up his mind.
Those two would be a deadly combo.
I hope we have room for GH. Btw, did a kid (d.j. balentine) really make 7 3’s in that game? Never heard of him, looks like no offers…?
Oh man
A Gary Harris, Ronnie combo would be awesome! Just think about 2013, It could be Bryson Scott, RJ and Harris.
D.J. is a hell of a shooter
he took my beloved Kats to the State Finals this past year, but I think a lot of teams view him as undersized. I believe some MAC programs and IPFW have expressed interest.

Are you kidding?
TMill is practically in love with Balentine. Read enough of his articles and you’ll see the man-crush just ooze out of him.

hehehehehe, He's a wildkat
He took them to state, something they hadn’t done in 14 years when I was there. Of course I love the kid. He’s an excellent young man too from the times I have gotten to interview him.
His dad nearly took us to state in 1992 and I was only 12 watching that team, so I pretty much idolized them.

Says Ronnie and Gary are good friends, and that Purdue is definitely a factor in his recruitment. Doesn’t sound like we could use a football scholarship and have him play basketball though. Sounds like he’s planning to do just one sport in college.
thanks for
posting the 2nd article! makes me feel alot better about our chances to get harris. Hopefully he makes his choice this fall.
Great article - and also a question
Thx for sharing! Makes me feel better about our chances too. Although, I am still concerned about the oversign, and that our biggest need is in a big man.
One question though, it says Purdue wasn’t heavily recruiting Harris early, but has been aggressive in the past year. I understand recruiting a kid early is a positive to him, but when you come down to it, does it really matter? Hypothetically, say a guy is a late bloomer who was so-so as a frosh but jump to the scene as a junior, it is only natural that he wasn’t recruited heavily early on. And when it’s time to make a decision, the only criteria that that should matter are 1) coaching staff, 2) play style, 3) play time, 4) faciltiies, 5) academics (perhaps), and how early someone recruited you should not be a factor, right?
Seems like he's ready to don the Old Gold and Black.
As an elite athlete and scorer equipped with a college-ready body, defensive-minded demeanor and distinctly complete game, Harris is a hot commodity, after averaging 18-and-a-half points, about five rebounds, three assists and 2.7 steals as a junior.
HOPE?
Maybe the reason he is putting off a commitment for so long is………PURDUE is making it tough for him to say no?
I think it would be hard to say no to
A brand new athletics facility, one of the hottest coaches in college basketball, and an amazing corps of assistant coaches.
Seriously, our basketball program is stacked.
Ryan still gives me the willies
