A day after the Boilers signed Ronnie Johnson (and are overbooked a scholly), they offered 2012 4 star, super 60 big man AJ Hammons. He has also been offered by Texas and OSU which probably means he won't like that we are recruiting him cleanly and we don't stand a chance with him. It could help that OSU is bringing in McDonald's All-American Amir WIlliams in 2011. I know Purdue has been recruiting Hammons for a while and have also heard a few knocks on him taking plays off and such. Bottom line, the kid is 6'10, 280...you can teach skills and hard-work but you can't teach size like that. Where there is smoke there is fire, is there any smoke with this kid? Would he fit in with what Painter is trying to do? Assuming the 2012 class doesn't decommit any, we could have 5 very dangerous seniors backed up by 4 just as dangerous juniors for the 2015 Final 4 in Indianapolis.
What is the word with this guy?
