I know there was some conversation about this in one of the articles but I was hoping to get some more conversation started about possible replacements for Paul Lusk. Also, does anyone know if Mike Jackson will be back next year after his legal troubles? Personally, I hope so, as he is an experienced Assistant Coach with good ties to the Detroit area.
BoiledSports had an interesting list of possible replacements: Dan Dakich, Kenneth Lowe, Linc Darner, Brian Cardinal, Chris Lowry from SIU, Micah Shrewsberry from Butler, Carson Cunningham, and current Graduate assistant J.R Reynolds.
Dakich is a stretch in my book but there are some other interesting possibilities on this list. I like the idea of a former player but only if we need to replace Lusk and Jackson. Otherwise I would rather go with an experienced coach. Lowery is interesting to me as he has head coaching experience and has worked with Painter before. He is still head coach at SIU but it sounds like that fanbase isn't happy.
What about someone like Jeff Capel? Thoughts?
