Why I Still Have Faith

This is probably going to be long and rambling, but just stick with me. I mean, I just drove two hours back home for no apparent reason. The game thread started to get a little chippy and I wanted to share why I still faith in this team and why I believe the season is not lost, and Mission Houston is still possible.

I am an irrational sports fan to say the least. My general mood is tied to the outcome of sports, which why these last two losses have been killer. I can stand getting beat by a better team but I can not stand getting outworked and outhustled. MSU and Iowa both punched us in the mouth and our Boilers kind of rolled over and died. I, for one, believe that this won't happen anymore.

We Purdue fans are a special breed. I dont think you can become a true Purdue fan, you are born one. I know, that sounds odd coming from the guy who's been in Indiana four times in his life and it was for NASCAR races. We aren't a team that gets bandwagon fans, its a team that you follow for life. I have no connection to this team in any way, but I couldnt imagine not being a Purdue fan. Every moment that kills breeds a moment that makes me remember why I stick with this team.

Those years at the end of Keady's career were painful. I would bawl after almost every game. I can't stand losing. Last year against Duke made me bawl and I was in a bar with a bunch of other college students. I dont think any other fan base can understand what we go through. Constantly disrespected is an understatement. That's why I love this blog. it gives us a place to share our love for Purdue. I mean, what other blog would raise money to send their fearless leader to a game? I think we all need to just take a step back and reflect. We still have games to play and this team does its best when they are disrespected.

You can bet we will be disrespected this week. That doesn't matter. Boilers stick together and we will be just fine. I still have faith. The question is, do you?
