Bolden's Injury is a 3rd ACL
The news came out on GoldandBlack.com and Twitter today that Ralph Bolden's MRI confirmed a torn ACL. This is the third of this man's career and difficult for us fans to swallow. You have to ask....why does this keep happening to us? I can't offer an explanation of any kind.
If you really want to take a positive from this, I like the idea of Akeem Hunt getting to play more. Shavers should be back too.
Here's my question...can you even play football after 3 tears? Doesn't a player get to the point where their body won't let them play? I have no idea. Oh well...on to the Little Caesar's Vegetable Bowl. (See what I did there?)

Hang em up and get your degree, Ralph.
Horrible news. He seems like a good kid.
Nobody cares about your fantasy baseball team
Feel VERY bad for Ralph
But I still hold the belief that all the negative just help build stronger character, and are the seed to a wonderful future with unbelievable success (usually in a different way). Steve Jobs was kicked out from his own company, and instead of sinking with Apple in its lost decade, he got to start a new biz and eventually made him a better manager when he returned to Apple. We didn’t know the reason at the time, but it is when we look back that we realize what seems tragic is actually the best thing ever happened.
Timing of Announcement
Looks like they made it official just after the bowl line-ups were announced. Was this delayed because we were afraid the news would make us less attractive to bowls?
Nothing happened to us, Jackson Brunner
Ralph tore his ACL playing a sport he loves. I hope he has a speedy recovery and if he wants to play football again, I hope he has the chance.

Agreed.
That’s how I feel now after hearing Rob go down last year. I mean we care because he’s a Boiler and ultimately we want Purdue to win a championship in anything they are competing in. That being said, when an injury happens to a player, we’re not putting in the blood sweat and tears (well some of us probably cry due to fact we may lose a banner) to go through surgery/rehab and the mental wars in trusting your knee.
As it has been said other places, this is another test in life for Ralph, or any athlete that goes through this injury multiple times. I hope that whatever he decides to do from this point he is successful for it. I’d rather him be successful outside the field, by using the scholarship he was granted to get a good degree, than to see him play in front of a bunch of people that will appreciate his efforts for a while and then move on to the next player coming in.
This goes for Rob Hummel too.
To your call once more we rally...
I was referring to the long string of ACL injuries that won't end.

ACL injuries won't end as long as there are sports
But it is the ACL injuries to the top Purdue athletes that are mind-boggling. In the last 2 yrs, Robbie (x2), Ralph (x3), Marve (x2), Rob, Drey, KK are all starters that play a crucial role in their team. Could it be that they train so hard that’s why they are the starters, and that also they are most susceptible to injuries?
That was my point.
Why does it seem to happen to us more than any other school?
