Personal recap from tonight's Celtics game (JJ & E'twaun)
So I ended up going to tonight's Celtics game. Good seats too (thank God it's off season and these games are actually affordable). It was super weird seeing E'Twaun and JJ in Boston and sporting Celtics uniforms but also oh so awesome! Neither one played until 6 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter when Doc finally put E'Twaun in. He came in firing!! Made most of his free throws, then nailed a beautiful 3. He stayed in the rest of the game and ended up with 11 points, I believe. He seemed confident, Doc seemed confident in him, he had good control of the ball and didn't look like a rookie at all.
Now on to JJ. JJ's in trouble!! He came in a few minutes after E'twaun and ended up with 2 fouls within 30 seconds of getting on the court. A few minutes later he got his 3rd foul when he was called for traveling. JJ seemed very nervous and was trying way too hard to impress. I got the feeling that he's feeling lots of pressure due to his limited playing time. He wasn't very effective and ended up getting benched.

Big men always have the toughest transition to the next level
It’s great to see E’Twaun performing well. A lot of Celtics fans have been pretty impressed with him.
Reaction images? I got 'em

I think it is due to the long summer layoff
Smooge has been playing professional ball in Italy, so he is in mid-season form. As much as JJ tries to stay in shape, it is different when you haven’t been playing competitively.
He didnt get benched
There was less than 2 minutes to play and they took him out to put that Sampson in he hadnt played.Yes E looks good but so does JJ in the first preseason game he had 3 boards and a block to say he is in trouble bull shit Doc loves them both.E will play alot for them JJ will only get mop up but they belong and neither are in trouble.
This is the first game that I've watched
so I can only speak for what I saw in this game. And you can’t deny that JJ looked unnerved especially after those 2 fouls. I know one game can’t speak for how he’s doing overall and maybe saying he’s in trouble in a poor choice of words, this being the off-season and the first home game, but everything else I said is true. You can read the frustration on his face.
E'twaun
just seems so odd seeing him in number 55. I guess number 33 is kinda off limits in Boston though…
they're saving it
it will come back next year when they draft another 6’8" Indiana native that lives in the gym, has had a tumultuous college career, can hit the three, do all the Little Things, and shockingly leads his team single-handedly to the NCAA title game.

I Read That
I read that Quote where doc said he and Danny are aware that there was three Purdue players who where going to do fine in the NBA.He also said that E and JJ had been very well coached and that he really likes the Purdue program.Last night he made a refrence when asked about how mature E was and said it was because he was so well coached.I hope they get Robbie but I think all these positives from E have to help at the very least.
Goddamn it!
This can’t happen! Bulls fans are supposed to hate the Celtics! And now they’re gonna end up my second-favorite!

Oh almost forgot!
Here’s a video of them walking into the tunnel after the game..

In case anyone is wondering why I’m not screaming Boiler Up, it’s because I tried that at halftime and everyone turned around and looked at me except for them. Plus apparently I can’t scream and hold the camera steady so at the end I decided to try silent filming :-P
Could copy the pic...
But it is a great one from ESPN.
