I was thinking about this
It seems like we have an inordinate amount of NFL level talent that comes through our school…how come we could never capitalize?

There are a lot of defensive players on the list from the early 2000’s. I know Spack wasn’t the most liked coach (some of his choices were questionable), but he did a good job of developing talent on that side of the ball.
FWIW, he’s doing pretty well at Illinois State right now, too. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets called up to a new school in the next few years – maybe at Purdue. After all, the price would be right !

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t pollard the only Purdue guy on the field when these 2 teams got together?
Maybe...
he’s just talking overall? I mean he was playing backup to Orton for a while and there are a lot of Purdue guys in the NFL that he has probably faced since getting the starting job.
