GDB: The Highlights Edition
No, not those kinds of highlights... Just following up on a joke from the game thread the other night that came up after a brief discussion about my signature. I had planned this awhile ago as a Jeff Francouer/Generic Royals player X post for RoyalsReview.com, but then got lazy and decided that a one sentence Highlights joke as my signature is probably more than anyone needed for a Highlights reference anyway. In the end that was probably a good thing, as Goofus and Gallant are almost certainly better used to illustrate the two sides of one GDB (and yes, I only have this introduction in here to get over the mandated 75 words for a FanPost). Anyway, here we go...
The G** D*** Barlow edition...
Halftime Break!
And... DRINK! We're back.
And that's all for now... Til next time!

Gallant likes Puppies Haha
Hilarious!!!!
Well done
Awesome pics/captions
Please show a pic of the first row.
Nice!
Was expecting youtubes of his half-court heave against Iona or the dunk against Miami, but this was awesome.
A Regular Thursday Afternoon H&R Feature...
…I propose. This spot could rival PiB in popularity.
GDB – the most dynamic example of bipolar personality since Jekyl and Hyde.
Well done.
"There's no hope until Hope is gone!"
Ha...
We’d need to stumble upon a pretty big cache of Barlow images…
More Goofus than Gallant...

No problem - there are 15 or so players on the team
One per week should take us right up to tourney time!
"There's no hope until Hope is gone!"
Not sure that would work for any other players.
Hummel does little wrong… Carroll does little… of anything. There’s only one GDB!
Anyway I used up my remaining Kenny images and updated the post, so that will have to do until someone comes up with a new meme I guess.

This is hilarious!
Just one thing though…I wish we would stop calling him “GDB” because it seems like he’s growing up and playing better. His stats this year are quite good. From what I’ve seen, he rebounds well and can drive to the hoop…but a few contested shots aren’t enough this season to throw him under the bus.
I definitely won't be calling him GBD after this post
It’s Goofus and Gallant only from here on out…

My Goofus Interpretations
Good job on the pics. However, I interpret the pictures much differently and believe that the captions of the Goofus pictures tend to give Mr. Barlow an unjustly bad rap. See below for the truth (according to me).
Goofus pic #1 He’s shooting left handed. That’s not GDB for a contested three, that is a pic of him driving hard to the hoop and dominating the defenders. I remember that left handed shot by the way, it went in for 2 pts and 1.
Goofus pic #2 Clearly no one is guarding him so he sprinted straight to the hoop for an easy dunk as shown on Gallant pic #7. Did anyone else notice that the defender in Gallant #7 is so awe inspired by GDB’s dunking skills that he actually appears to be cupping GDB’s balls?
Goofus pic #3 Kalin Lucas is not even GDB’s man on this play. He is clearly hounding Summers – who has no chance to score on this play – and applying great team defense to funnel Lucas to his man Lew Jack. In fairness, GDB actually rotated and got the steal, which is shown as Gallant pic #8
Goofus pic #4 You have it turned around, Kramer and Anthrop are staring at the large chested gal in the front row. GDB and Hart are notoriously ass men. They are checking out the badunkadunk on the gal walking up the aisle and headed towards the concession stands.
Goofus pic #5 You can clearly see in the background that Iowa only has 2 points score due to GDB’s suffocating defense. GDB actually has the full court press on the Hawkeye and he is running away from the basket, scared for his life. Stories of GDB eating cameras have not been confirmed due to a lack of indesputable video evidence
Goofus pic #6 You were exactly right on this caption. The inferior team was totally futile and choked to their fate. I applaud GDB for identifying the correct gesture – he was so observant as a freshman – but wag my finger at him for getting caught.
Goofus pic #7 This is an unstoppable floater at the top of the elbow. Notice the mad hops as he jumped up at least four feet higher into the air than is openent.
Goofus pic #8 This picture follows a heated moment between GDB and CK3 about which dog is better: poodles or pit bulls. At this moment, GDB has just finished describing his poodle grooming tactics. CK3 is covering his head with a towel and laughing in histerics. GDB is fuming because CK3 just doesn’t understand the awesomeness of the mighty poodle. JJ is looking at CK3 in fear because he knows CK3’s secret, which is that he can turn into a pit bull at any second.
Goofus pic #9 GDB had to help his teammate by denying the post. Did you think Carroll was going to stop Horford (#15) one on one?
Goofus pic#10 Kelsey Barlow is a changed/better man. He no longer likes to engage in conduct detrimental to team.
Hail GDB!!!!
Loved this

Well played.

Absolutely hilarious!
Both the original post and the interpretations…. Barlow is definitely one of the most interesting players to ever don a Purdue uniform. Can’t wait to see what he does tomorrow in the Xavier game!
this years Barlow
I really enjoy watching him play, his defense is excellent and he rarely makes a mistake. In comparison the upside to Byrd was that he was a smart player and a better scorer, now it’s not even close. Barlow plays so much better “D” always gaurding the best 2 or 3. He also has a better scoring average and rarely turns it over, Byrd now playing less still has lazy passes for T.O.‘s Barlow has grown into the player painter wanted him to be and he’s only a Jr. one more great year. The pullup jumper looked excellent against X and I’d love to see him be more aggressive on offense b/c he can create or flip it which makes it easier for Ryne/Rob to score.
Robbie
I’m as tired as the next person of the constant reminders from ESPN that Robbie was hurt last year. That being said, your ESPN interlude made me lol (as did a couple of Gallant & Goofus captions). Touche.
Well done, sir.
You planned it for Frenchy?

Frenchy makes the real Gallant seem like Goofus' retarded brother...
He’s that good.
