SB Nation BlogPoll College Football Top 25 Rankings "
As usual, my analysis follows the jump, as I am sure there are some outraged at my rationale.
- I seriously considered moving Oklahoma State to No. 1 because of the lack of offense in the epic Game of the Century, but LSU is still No. based on wins over five ranked teams and the two best one-loss teams.
- Houston at No. 5 will also cause controversy, but this as high as I am putting them. I know Alabama would beat them most likely, but I'd love to see Case Keenum go against that defense. Houston vs. Oregon might be the first game ever where both teams crack 100 points.
- Alabama at seven is not a mistake. yes, the defense is awesome, but without even a reliable kicker they are going to struggle to score most weeks. At some point you have to score. Also, they do not deserve a rematch with LSU in the title game because if you can't even win your own division in your conference you don't deserve to play for the National Title. Thanks for playing! Better hope LSU loses twice.
- Nebraska crapping the bed at home gives them their big drop. Stanford vs. Oregon could have a big say on if Boise gets their first shot at the title game.
