Commentators on the Indianapolis vs. Kansas City game...
I don't normally do this and post videos that I record off of the television, but this caught my eye and ear when it happened. Did anyone else catch it? The commentators during the Colts game had some very nice things to say about Purdue. My favorite part comes at the end of the video. This happened with about 1 minute to go in the first half...
Curtis Painter played pretty well today. Do you think it was the competition, or do you think he is becoming more comfortable as the starter in this system?

I think it's both
The competition definitely matters (it’s not like they are playing the Ravens who allowed a league-low 14 ppg), but I think confidence is a big deal too. When I am playing bball, I play a lot better if I don’t worry about missing the next shots. The worry comes from teammates yelling at me and blaming me (in Painter’s case, it’s the fans and coaches). Painter knows he will be getting the opportunity so he doesn’t need to rush things and prove himself as desperately. Having Collins did so horrible in the first 3 games also gave him the comfort that however bad he did the fans won’t be calling for his head, like when he “ruined” the Colts’ perfect season. This helps him get more comfortable in games.
