Willis on Purdue, IU, UK, UofL

Bluiett still has IU on top

Gary Harris sets record ... as a receiver

Star-divide

With Willis, I think he is referring to us when he says looking for "how hard they work and how intense practices are." It also sounds like UofL takes a drop b/c of the disappointed fans turnout.

With Blueitt, and the Class of 2014 in general, do you think a super-strong 2012 and 2013 will deter some 2014 players because they know they won't be getting the playing time? (Although IU's pretty loaded too, but not at SG, so the argument doesn't apply to Blueitt)

With Harris, darn, what an athlete! I love football players to play basketball (yes, that includes Bade, although he fouls too much to be effective). They bring some necessary toughness. Chris Kramer and Aaron Craft are prime examples.

As an aside, I haven't heard anything from our first practice, which gotta be good news! (We all remember what happened in the first practice last year)

Oooops, actually there is news on our first practice, and it's about Hummel!

I love seeing Hummel back and feeling good and shooting well. I also love how he is like an assistant coach helping the young guys. I am kinda concerned about the health of our team though, with yet another injury (LewJack’s foot). I know it isn’t too serious, but we just have our first practice and already a third of the team (Hummel, TJ, LewJack and John Hart) are not 100%. These minor injuries tend to flare up during the season and becomes even more serious (e.g. look at John Hart last season).

The good thing is, with a pair of athletic frosh forwards who may not be too skilled offensively, I agree with Painter that our approach this year would be to score from our defense. We no longer have a pair of first-team all B1G who can create shots on their own, so we’ll have to rely on everyone contributing and playing even more aggressive defense to generate fast break points.

Bluiett

Bluiett said “still has IU in the top of his list” rather than “at the top”, could be meaning in his top 5?
