Don't want Kerrigan to go too early in the draft
Would hate to see his talent wasted by protecting some crap QB on a crap team (read: Jimmy Clausen on the Carolina Panthers).

He wouldn't be protecting any QB
He’s a defensive end, which means he’s trying to take down the other team’s QB. If he does go high though, you’re right, he would be playing for a pretty bad team. He’s more likely to land with a solid/average team though.
Personally
I’ve wanted him under the national radar so that the Colts, being rather local to see Purdue coverage, could pick him up. Always gotta hope the home team gets someone awesome.

Polian and Caldwell will be run out of town if they don’t take a O lineman with their first pick. I’d love to see Kerrigan in the blue and white but I don’t think it would make the most sense for Indy. The only way I see him landing with the Colts is if they trade for him or he slips to the late 2nd round, which isn’t happening.
