Duke 61, FSU 66 - how far will they fall?
I know, I know.... who cares what the AP thinks, right? But just for giggles (and I can't seem to stop giggling about this), the question is: How far will they fall?
Now we all know, had Purdue been in this situation, they would have been knocked from #1 to about #21. But this is Duke! Duuuuke! and they lost to what appears to be the Iowa of the ACC.
I have my guess, but let's hear yours.

They will probably move down to #2 with Ohio St. moving up to #1. I think they will generally still be viewed as the best team in the country, as I think they should be.
Had we been in the awesome situation of being #1 I don’t think we would have been knocked down that far, because to be in that situation right now would mean we’d have to have Hummel (there’s no other way we’d be ranked that high at the moment), and, had we still had #4 on the court, I think we would see many more analysts and “experts” giving us a lot more leniency when it comes to losses. With Hummel we were a known entity (see: AWESOME). Many outside of Purdue are still trying to figure out just how good this team is (though I believe we are very good), but if we do well during the meat of our Big 10 schedule I think we could lose once or twice and not see a significant drop in the pools.
I hate Duke, but if they end up ranked behind SDSU, that would just be a joke. But I guess the polls are a little whacky anyways.

I would't call FSU the Iowa of the ACC
They’ve got a stout defense and have beaten most (the exception being the Auburn game) of the teams they should beat. I’d say they more of a mid-ACC team with a chance to move up this year in a down conference.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Syracuse jump up into the mix for #1 after the way OSU and Kansas both struggled to put away Michigan. I don’t see how Duke can be any higher than 5th assuming nothing else changes this week. If they end up behind SDSU we’ll have conclusive evidence that the polls are broken.
OT, anyone still want to talk bad about our conference wins so far? Penn State came up big twice and Michigan came within one or two made shots of beating the #2 and #3 (soon to be #1) teams in the country. It may not look like murderer’s row on paper, but every team in the B1G can be a tough out. I’m glad to see the Boilers take care of business.

struggled to come up with a good parallel in the BigTen. More akin to PSU? NW?
And no, nobody should scoff at a road win in State College this year. nor Ann Arbor, apparently. UM will be competitive as this squad matures.

barring any other big upsets this week...
my guess is:
1.OSU 2.Duke 3.Kansas
OR
1.OSU 2.Kasas 3.Duke
I’m betting the media won’t let them fall far, unless Jay Bilas lost more money on that game than I thought….. Duke ranked below SDSU would be hilarious… but maybe too much to hope for.

really exposed..
fsu laid down a blueprint to beat duke, get a hand in the face of shooters and let them do whatever they want down low. in my opinion, you can’t be a top ranked team in the country when you have absolutely nothing on the block
