A belated birthday to Hammer & Rails/Off the Tracks

I forgot to mention this on Saturday, but we passed another milestone. On August 28th, 2006 I launched what was then called the Purdue Football Blog. It took me awhile to even get one comment, but in the four years since this site has grown beyond anything I could have ever dreamed for it, and it has continued to grow.

It is because of you readers that I am here at SBNation.

It is because of you readers that I was credentialed for the Big Ten Tournament.

It is because of you readers that I will be credentialed this weekend at Notre Dame.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You guys are the reason that I get to do what I do here.

I am really really picky about what I spend my time reading- and you have the best Purdue site out there.

It’s fun to come here because for some reason you don’t have a lot of negative or stupid trolls.

No one postures- and your quality of writing is really very good.

I like the fact that you remain objective when things can get emotional- and respect the fact that you can “lose it” as well.

Between the in-depth analysis and previews here and the comedy and opponent bashing at BS, we boilermakers have everything covered in the blogosphere.

Congrats!

Although I only joined a year ago, I’ve enjoyed this blog. It provides great insight and respectful discussion with passionate Purdue fans. It’s great to be able to get good info. about the Boilers no matter where I am. Let’s celebrate by beating Notre Dame on Saturday!
