US Defeats Slovenia 3-2. Wait, WHAT!?
Why in the HELL was this goal disallowed!?!!? I've watched it at least 10 times live speed and slow-motion, and there is no offsides, there are no fouls on the US (we won't talk about the rape of Bocanegra and Bradley), and the ball ends up in the back of the net. Goal. That ref may have kept the US from getting out of the group stage.

USA won
The score just doesn’t reflect it. As long as we advance to the next round than this screw job won’t matter. Hopefully it doesn’t keep us from advancing.

What if Broad Street Didn't Fight Back? History HAS been made. 5-7-10
5-8-10...the day the Purdue Boilermakers basketball team won the 2011 NCAA Championship!!
This would suck
If the U.S. draws with Algeria and England draws with Slovenia, and England scores exactly two more goals than the U.S., the U.S. and England would be even on all tiebreakers for second place. The tie would be broken by drawing lots.

We actually might win the group if we take care of business against Algeria...
but the winner of the group might very well face Germany in the next game. How bad would THAT suck?
Bad or dirty?
I’m not one to go in for consiracy theories, but riddle me this: this was the same ref who awarded a bad stoppage-time penalty in a 1-0 African Cup game in 08 (Cameroon-Egypt), potentially leading to a tie/OT rather than a Egyptian win. That two changed or near-changed outcomes on his watch. Something just doesn’t feel right here.

Thought I'd drop in here since this'll be a rare occassion that we're all on the same side
I’ve always been a bit cynical regarding international sports because of my belief that judges/officials tend to stick it to the Americans because….well we’re America. I don’t care a lick about soccer, but that sort of thing is pretty hard to swallow.
If its any consolation, (its not) it looks like the ref is probably going to be sitting for the rest of the tourney:

You're more than welcome here
and I think you’ll find most of the Big Ten sites are very friendly as long as you come to discuss things rationally.
