Almost another Steve Bartman moment....
So, my buddy was driving on campus like any other day this week. All of a sudden he see's someone starting to run across the road, in a random spot, just in front of him with out even looking both ways. The person of course had in his Ipod ear buds and just about got creamed. Luckily my buddy was being observant and saw it coming so he slammed on his breaks in plenty of time. Who was this unobservant jogger? None other than our recuperating Robbie Hummel. If either of them would have got there any earlier, we would have something very bad on our hands and my friend would be Purdue's Steve Bartman......

Good sign
I guess it is a good sign that he’s running on the knee already.
You don’t need to look both ways when you’re 6’8, you kind of expect people to notice you.
damn
it was a good 2-3 months before I was allowed to jog outside after my ACL surgery.
First Rule of Running
Someone needs to tell Robbie, the first rule of the road for runners, is to assume cars are trying to hit you. Also wearing head phones eliminates your last line of defense.
Great news that he is is running. I started a month after ACL surgery, but it was a one leg, hop and shuffle (not recommended).
Funny and cool. Here's my semi story.
I remember being shocked driving and seeing Evan Eschmeyer. He was entering his car. (I used to live in Evanston.) It was obvious who he was from relatively far away.
The impulse is half to pull over and stare, but that’s horrendous driving. I’d seen 7-footers at an NBA game up relatively close, but it’s especially shocking when you’re sitting.
Thankfully Robbie’s court awareness > his (apparent) jogging awareness in this instance. I imagine it/was a thrill just to be able to run so soon & easy to forget stuff.
Or maybe Robbie knew how fast he was and your car was and was practicing tricky cuts…already. Using eye faking, tunnel perception etc.
