2010-2011 Projected Roster/Rotation
I'm sure that TMill is going to come out with a few of these type posts, but I wasn't patient enough to wait.
(drum roll please)
Here is your 2010-2011 Purdue Boilermakers.... (loud cheering/applause)
Starting at PG, a 5-9 junior from Decatur, IL.......Lewis Jackson
Starting at SG, a 6-4 senior from East Chicago, IN......E'Twaun Moore
Starting at SG/F, a 6-5 sophomore from Indianapolis, IN..... Kelsey Barlow
Starting at F, a 6-8 senior from Valparaiso, IN.....Robbie Hummel
Starting at F/C, a 6-10 senior from Indianapolis, IN....JaJuan Johnson
Sixth Man: 6-5 Guard from Crawfordsville, IN....DJ Byrd
Bench Rotation Guard:
1. DJ Byrd
2. Terone Johnson
3. Ryne Smith
4. Anthony Johnson
5. John Hart
Bench Rotation Forward/Center:
2. Patrick Bade
3. Travis Carroll
4. Donnie Hale
So that is a deep team, too deep really as by my count that is 14 players with only 13 scholarships available. That means somebody is walking away and unless Marcius doesn't cut it for some reason, it looks like John Hart has played his last game for Purdue, unless he wants to stay on as a walk-on. Which is possible if there aren't any takers out there for him or if he doesn't want to sit out a year. Either way, it looks good for 2010-2011 as it appears there is a solid 8 to 9 (maybe even 10!!!!) man rotation that Matt Painter could use to keep fresh bodies on the floor.

Now that I think about it
I don’t think you have to sit out a year if your scholarship is ripped from you, but I’m not 100% sure either way.

If I was Hart
And I was coming off the year he had I wasn’t going to be on scholarship at Purdue I’d transfer to a smaller school and try to get a starting spot. Given what he did against Illinois it seems reasonable he can be the designated shooter for a lesser team.
No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

Clarification
This is my projected lineup at the begnining of the season. My guess is that Terone Johnson makes his way onto the starting lineup by the end of the year, supplanting Barlow if GDB is unable to improve his jumper and midrange game.

GDB has a jumper?
I don’t think I ever saw him take one all year….seriously.

Nice projections
But I seriously believe that Terone Johnson will be our starting PG at some time next year.

Anyways
There’s two or three players I’d like to see transfer before John Hart. He’s got a bigger upside than most people realize. He shouldn’t want to go to a smaller program just because he has to work on his defense this offseason. If I were him, I’d get that together and get ready to contribute, again. We might have never won another game if he didn’t save us against Illinois. He is instant offense on a team that God-knows has spurts where I’d just as well see a three man weave instead of our motion offense. You cannot, I repeat, CAN NOT run a motion offense with one or TWO players that aren’t willing to score from anywhere on the court. Barlow doesn’t fit in with this team, sorry to say. Our stupid offense makes Lewis and Kelsey catch passes that have no point. Ryne Smith shot fakes whenever he catches the ball because we know he can’t dribble it. So really, what’s goin’ on? :)
Big 3 + What?
We know what the Big 3 can and cannot do. We need players that compliment them.
DJ Byrd looks like he might be the most likely replacement for Keaton
1.) Lew Jack: needs to learn to shoot from 15 ft (both FT’s and FG’s)
2.) Kelsey Barlow needs to learn to shoot and to find a position (he’s no PG).
3.) Rhyne Smith needs to shoot. (he knows how)
4.) Patrick Bade needs to learn basketball. He has 2 strengths now:
He’s 6-8 and he has 5 fouls to give.
5.) Looking forward to seeing Marcius, Hale and Carrol play.
JJ and Robbie need two decent back-ups (would settle for one)
6.) Freshman guards will hopefully find roles.
7.) Not sure where Hart fits. Didn’t appear Painter had a role for him at the end
(or the beginning).
All about the Big 3. I suppose if we just get Defense and one other thing from each of the rest, Painter would be reasonably satisfied. Be nice if we could find someone to consistently come off the bench to hit 3’s (is 40% asking too much from a “shooter”?).
I would rather have Smith or Bade leave then Hart
Hart acutally produce one time this year witch is one time more than bade or smith did. Plus he is a year younger than Smith(and he does not have an agonizing pump-fake). Bade looks undersized and undertalented. Boilers2indy was right when he said he 6’8 and had five fouls to give. Because that is all he is a bad backup post player
Bade has way more upside than Hart or Smith have
Smith has a very nice shot, but he is too passive. I could take or leave Hart.
