First game

Florida vs. BYU. Amazingly, Florida has the longest active NCAA Tournament winning streak. They’ve won 12 straight.

i'm feeling all sorts of upsets

Lehigh will play Kansas tough.
Kentucky will have a “setback” today. Not a loss, though.
ODU will hurt ND’s confidence if they still have any after today.
Nova is in trouble. Jay Wright knows it.

I took Ohio over Georgetown

Didn’t really have a specific reason other than the fact that G-Town lost 10 times. Sure, that is mitigated by Ohio’s 14, but screw it, its fun to pull against the Big East.

Does anyone else

Miss the days when they had banners on the scorer’s table that listed all the teams that were playing at a site? Now they just digitally put the two teams that are playing in that game. I always like the old banners because when you re-watched old games it also reminded you of who else was playing/good at the time.

Ack

Apparently I didn’t trust my gut when I transferred my picks from paper → ESPN. I put down Vandy even though I have Murray St. on my paper :( I swear it’s there…

by Froggr on Mar 18, 2010 9:58 PM EDT up reply actions

Ouch

I’ve had that happen before. It sucks.

by dbaltman on Mar 18, 2010 9:58 PM EDT up reply actions

I wasn't consistent

I have four or five different brackets, and when I go through them, I find all sorts of little random picks that I thought I had made one way, but apparently made the decision later and didn’t go back and change it.

I picked Murray State in 4 brackets, but have Vandy winning their first 3 randomly in the 5th. No idea why.

same thing happened to me

murray st is written down on my paper but ESPN says I picked vandy

Can't believe no Big Ten games today. BLEH.

I don’t know if I’ll be able to sleep tonight.

Could be sweet tomorrow, though.

Especially with the table the at big east is setting today.

by boilerslim on Mar 18, 2010 9:56 PM EDT up reply actions

I have two good brackets right now.

In one, Marquette wins and goes to the SS if not the EE – that one is for money. In the other Washington wins and I’m 9/11 in that bracket. Not sure which I want to happen. :)

Don't worry. At some point they will remember they are Kansas

and Cole Aldrich will step on somebody, then Sherron Collins will make several shots.

I'll keep watching until Kansas starts destroying them.

But they mentioned Lehigh does have a very solid freshman player. Hmm. Nah… If Kansas loses this game….anything can happen.

Man, TMill

If the Big East keeps this up tomorrow, you’re going to have enough material for a whole Defend That Digger book.

by septimusharding on Mar 18, 2010 10:11 PM EDT reply actions

I should just do it as a book

Especially if Syracuse loses to Vermont. I know they’re shorthanded, but it is still indefensible. They should have played more players in preparation.

I guess I figured you can’t lose with that many high-school All-American’s, but they are proving it possible. Just like UNC.

Alright gents

I’m about to sign off for the night. However, before I leave, I need some advice for the proper Purdue gear to wear to the bar tomorrow morning. Here are the options:

-Gold Big Dog Jersey
-Big Ten Champions t-shirt
-Game worn Purdue Rugby jersey

by dbaltman on Mar 18, 2010 11:47 PM EDT reply actions

I'd say Gold Big Dog

That should only come out on special occassions, and I deem this one.

I've just got my traditional attire

Black “vintage” Purdue tee that I picked up for a blackout my freshman year that I’ve worn to every football/basketball game since. It was originally vintage faded, and now you can barely tell the Purdue P is on it. Most people ask if the shirt is inside out.
