I am very sorry to hear of the news. As an MSU fan, I was hoping for a hyperextension, or something that would keep him out for 2 weeks instead of the season. I was hoping for a long tournament run from you guys, but this news appears to put a damper on that for sure. I am pretty sure you guys have had the best team in the big ten the last three years, and injuries have prevented you from winning the big 10 championship.
It is still pretty likely that you will pull it out this year, but this news casts some doubt for sure.

The game on Saturday will be tough, and if you all win, it is legit. We had the sort of luck nobody really wants avoiding Lucas at 100% and now it is our turn.
This team won’t be playing an underdog or us against the world role. It will be emotional if they win. But it will take nothing from MSU winning. You play with the hand you’re dealt.

Is it at all possible
To play with a tear? Phillip Rivers and Dennis Dixon have done it (with varying degrees of success). Obviously, Robbie’s long term health is the #1 concern, but is there any way to make the knee stable enough to get though games without resorting to surgery?
Obviously I’m grasping at straws, but I’m in the bargaining phase right now.

Cutting and changing direction is kind of important.
It also takes at least a month of physical therapy and icing to get rid of the swelling and get your range of motion back.

I just don’t want to believe it. Currently in denial.
We can't get down....
Of course, this is a huge blow…probably the worst player we could have lost…..BUT…..we’re in a good position record wise, and after Sunday the rest of the regular season is manageable without him. If we the fans get all “doom and gloom” about this, it just shows we don’t have confidence in the team as a whole. This makes things extremely tough, but it’s not like we start each NCAA tournament game down by 20 now. We’ve got leaders on this team, and maybe they can each step up and fill the void (be it a large one).
We’ve got to keep our heads up, or the players won’t have any reason to.
