Purdue Player Will Win Super Bowl
It just occurred to me that with only 4 teams left, at least one former Purdue player will get a Super Bowl ring this year. I say Purdue player instead of Purdue alum because I'm not sure that Ray Edwards graduated from Purdue. That, combined with his reluctance to mention Purdue when he was introduced during primetime games, makes me root for him the least out of the 4 players still standing in the NFL playoffs. My number 1? Drew Brees, of course. My freshman year was the Rose Bowl season and I got to rush the field 3 times that year to celebrate with Drew. That, and he played for my hometown Chargers for a few years before the organization screwed up and drafted another QB, which sent him on his journey to help New Orleans. Second to the Saints, I'm probably rooting for the Colts. Curtis Painter probably won't have anything to do with a Super Bowl win, but I feel like the Saints deserve a championship more than the others. Next up would be Dustin Keller and the New York Jets. Rooting for the Jets still rubs me the wrong way after their victory over the Chargers and their brash demeanor they presented along the way. That being said, I loved watching Keller when he studied and played in West Lafayette. And then, like I said, Ray Edwards comes in last.
Drew Brees, Quarterback, Saints, Purdue 1997-2000
Curtis Painter, Quarterback, Colts, Purdue 2004-2008
Dustin Keller, Tight End, Jets, Purdue 2003-2007
Ray Edwards, Defensive End, Purdue 2003-2005
Am I forgetting anyone?
(Also, out of the final 8 teams, only 1 did not have a Boilermaker. The Ravens. The Chargers have Hardwick and Phillips. The Cardinals have Okeafor. The Cowboys have Spencer. Out of the final 12, the Eagles, Packers and Bengals also had none. The Patriots of course have 3 time Super Bowl winner Matt Light.)

That is exactly how I would rank them.

Well
Now a former Purdue QB will get a Super Bowl ring. One will have to work a lot harder for it though.
I'm the first person to admit that I'm wrong about a lot of things, but I'm going to be the last person to admit I'm wrong about what we're currently talking about.
I know
getting Peyton to take all that Exlax before the game is going to be a bitch for Curtis…
