Even thought e baseball team got pounded today 12-3 by Minnesota to finish the season, the day was not all bad. The staff here at Hammer & Rails (me) would like to congratulate Purdue's newest National Champion.
Senior Maria Hernandez won the NCAA individual championship in women's golf today at Cave's Valley Golf Course in Owings Valley, MD by one stroke over USC's Jennifer Song. Purdue finished 10th as a team, but this was Purdue's first ever individual National Champ in women's golf ever.
Congratulations to a great Purdue athlete in the final event of her collegiate career!
Congratulations Maria Hernandez! Way to make Purdue proud!
