Around SBN: Off Tackle Empire interviews Rich Rodriguez

Robert Marve to the "University of Purdue"

Apparently, he got last minute advice from Lou Holtz. Well, the debate is over and he is headed to West Lafayette, so what does everyone think? Here are some highlights and the stats he had. You know everything else from the entry a few days ago. So chime in, everyone.

I think this may open the door from high profile recruits. I also think it makes 2009 very interesting, as now everyone thinks we're just waiting for 2010. It would not surprise me to win six games and sneak to Detroit.

Comp. Att.      Int.      TD       Yards  Rush yards     Rush TD

Marve             116      213      13        9          1,293   119                  2

I think it's good for the program...

… but we’ll see how he plans out for the team. If nothing else it at least gets Purdue into the spotlight a little (very strange hearing good things spoken about our football team on College Football Live today) and may help us a little in recruiting, especially in Florida. As far as whether it’ll work out, well, let’s hope for the best. I really hope that he has things figured out and leads us to some successful seasons in 2010 and ‘11. But if he doesn’t, well, it won’t ruin the program.

I figure that there’s no real reason not to have him here, if he has his head on straight now. If he doesn’t, then he won’t last very long in West Lafayette.

Good point

This will give us an idea of how much of a disciplinarian Hope is. If Marve screws up again it will help us judge how Coach Hope will react.

A futile crusade to prevent mass ignorance

By the way....

What is with Florida recruits and this “University of Purdue” nonsense? ATM said the same thing at his press conference.
